Arguing that dark patterns are unethical is not enough on its own. We will also need to make the case to clients and colleagues that they are damaging to business.
Digital design has an immediate, enormously scalable impact that is often difficult to reverse. It’s even more worrying when designers and developers are unaware of this influence and all the associated responsibilities.
